Congress lodges strong protest against braid cutting in Ganderbal, submits Memorandum | KNO

The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee today lodged a strong protest against what it called the barbarism, attack on modesty of the women and harassment of innocent people in the valley. The Party also lashed out both State and Centre Govt for failing people of Jammu and Kashmir in every respect and asked the State Govt to come clean on braid cutting. Congress Leaders and workers led by Former Minister and Senior Congress Leader Taj Mohi U Din held protest demonstration in Ganderbal District today and lodged a strong protest against the unabated braid cutting and harassment of people.. On this occasion Congress Leaders and workers also submitted Memorandum to His Excellency the Governor Shri. N.N.Vora seeking immediate end to braid cutting, which the Party believes that the shameful ac (braid cutting) t is being carried out to vitiate atmosphere of peace in the valley, which is a matter of serious concern. Among others who participated in the protest demonstration included JKPCC Spokesperson Farooq Andrabi, General Secretary Surinder Singh, Sr. Leader Haji Ali Mohd Bhat, Sahil Farooq, Sheikh Aijaz and others participated in the protest and demanded that Govt must come clean on braid cutting, which has created fear psychosis among the people especially women. Addressing Party Workers Taj Mohi u Din expressed serious concern over the prevailing uncertainty in the valley and sought clarity from the Govt over braid cutting and harassment of people. He asked the Govt to take effective measures to unknot the mystery behind braid cutting. Despite dozens of braid cutting incidents across the valley no action was taken to identity the culprits thereby adding chaos to the situation, Taj Mohi U Din added. He strongly urged upon the Govt to ensure that the persons involved in braid cutting are brought to book and punished inorder to restore confidence of the people.
